The Fiat CR.42 plane is the height of perfection of fighter biplanes, although for the period of its commissioning in the army in May 1939 it was already obsolete. Despite this, he showed good service in battles in North and East Africa, in Greece and over Malta in 1940-1941, while pilots had to fight, as a rule, with British pilots who flew Hurricane and Gladiator. Many famous Italian pilots, including Mario Visintini, who became the most famous WWII fighter in a fighter biplane, shot down the first aircraft, flying precisely on Falco. Despite his replacement, this biplane continued his service in the army until the end of 1942 and was used for point defense of objects, escorting convoys, and also as a simulator plane. It was used by armies of Hungary, Belgium and Sweden, and also pilots of the Luftwaffe.
