XCOM: Enemy Within is an add-on for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the strategy game that won Game of the Year in 2012. Enemy Within brings a huge range of new skills, upgrades and weapons to combat the alien threat. It also adds a host of new maps and missions, new tactical and strategic gameplay elements, and new multiplayer content for a whole new experience.
• New Soldier Skills: Build a genetics lab to improve the physical capabilities of your operatives, including enhancements to the chest, brain, eyes, skin, and legs. Or build a Cybernetics Lab to enable the creation of the new Mechanized Exoskeleton Suit, aka IEC. A new class, the MEC fighter, comes with special skills, and each suit can be upgraded with new weapons such as a flamethrower and grenade launcher.
• New Weapons and Gear: Give your operatives an extra tactical edge with cutting-edge designs from your engineering team and foundry.
• New Enemies: Use different tactics to face two new types of enemies and a deadly organization called EXALT.
• New Strategic Resource: A highly valuable new alien resource known as the "Composition" has been discovered. Get it on the battlefield and use it skillfully at the base to unlock new research and upgrades.
• New tactical challenges and maps: Spy and reconnaissance missions present you with new tactical challenges across 40 different maps.
• New Maps, Skills and Units: Build your custom squad with tons of options and outmaneuver your opponent in intense one-on-one turn-based battles.
